What is Jesus’ beef with infidelity and premarital sex?

Question by M S: What is Jesus’ beef with infidelity and premarital sex?
I finally read the Bible (New Testament) for the first time all the way through. First, I didn’t know the apostles recount the same stories, just in their own views. Basically, Jesus is portrayed over and over again by all accounts to have a very strong dislike for infidelity and premarital sex. Why was he such a stickler for marriage vowels, especially since he never married?

Life is about a relationship with God. If you do those things, you have ended your relationship with God.

Decide what is more important: sin and pleasure … or God. He let’s you decide. He doesn’t force you.

He gave you a body (temple) to respect. Do as you choose. But, don’t blame Him.

Kids and other people get hurt through infidelity, etc. Life is not made to hurt other people.

Good question, and why did Jesus condemn divorce but not mention a word about homosexuality?

Are divorced people more in danger of going to hell than gays and lesbians?

the republicans dont believe in Jesus or his teachings they believe in Jebus a version of Jesus except he is made to say anything.

I’m not particularly a christian(though I am officially), and certainly not much of a theologian.. but most spiritual leaders do have a problem with those things.

In most major religions all unnecessary indulgence in physical desires is perceived as a sin. As it’s earthly, of the body, not of God. I’m not saying that’s my view, just that Jesus wasn’t alone in thinking so.

And assuming Jesus never married(there are theories), he also was according to Christians the son of God. Why would he marry? He wasn’t sent to earth to raise children, but to die for humanity’s sins.

Look up Mary Magdalene before reaching that conclusion

You’d be surprised how many people have a beef when their spouses go fooling around on them. You’d also be surprised how low the STD rate is amongst people who just make whoopie with their spouses.

It was written by man.I personally think Jesus would have a fit if he took a look at it.Don’t take it word for word, take it in the spirit it’s meant.

All any of us can do is the best we can.

At least I didn’t say “Don’t take it as Gospel.”.

If you read Mathew 21:12 you will see he had more of a beef with republicans.

If sex was allowed nothing would get done.
We would spend all our time seeking pleasure.
Who would work to make money for the republicans?

It is better to control people with sins.
Then the rich can get richer.

They already talked you out of 10% of your income.

How do you know he was never married.
If you were/are married do you wish your mate to be a stickler about the vows. Would you respect your mate more if you knew he/she was never with another before marriage?

The consensus in the historical community is that Jesus was derived from other prototypical characters from the Meditterranean tales. The evidence for his existence is barely even found in the Jewish accounts (aka Josephus) and neither is to be found in Roman accounts

Religion should not be regarded as completely historical. Jesus himself might’ve existed but the way he has been protrayed in our culture has been overbloated and way too entrenched in mythology to separate the facts from fiction. Jesus was different from the prophets Mohammed and Joseph Smith in that he was said to have never taken women as his consorts. There is also reason to believe that he was homosexual if he existed.

“Paul was the great Coryphaeus, and first corrupter of the doctrines of Jesus.”

“Churcianity” has defined their own “Jesus” to be the savior of a flock of prudes.

Notice how most of the NT is written by Paul NOT Jesus.

the true “Christ” is like a Jewish “Buddha”

it was probably incorporated into religious edict so as to prevent the spread of diseases which were probably not well understood back then – same reason to not eat pork (trichinosis) or to get circumcised (prevent infection) or any other number of Biblical edicts which were probably describing natural phenomena (natural yet divine) but just interpreted differently so as to be profound at the time, but still adhered to

infections and diseases were probably easily understood as divine acts instead of how we now interpret them – which is still not really well understood in spite of what the medical community would charge you to hear

If you read the New Testament, you would not have to ask such a question!

    — The Bible is not a book to read . You have missed the point. The Bible is to study with prayer, The Spirit will teach you what it says. You will not understand it if you are not in the spirit.
    — Go to a church, sunday school and study God’s word.

The 3 major religions were invented buy arabic men.

Arabic men and women have always taken fidelity seriously. Seriously enough to kill their own daughters for having sex (“honor killings of the east”). Old fashioned Arabic women gladly stone other women who dont practice fidelity (proving its not a sexist thing).

why arabic men hate infidelity enough to kill over it is beyond me….but…. they infused that value into religion and poisoned the world with this belief that having sex is sin.

There is scripture about homosexuality, I don’t know it word for word but it does say in the Bible…..”a man shall not lie with a man…”
I also forgot what book of the Bible it is in….DRATS!

  18. Ecliptica says:

Marriage is suppose to be a sacred union that only God can break and not man, the bible clearly states that anything sexually immoral outside of marriage is carnal sin, the body is the temple which should be respected and not destroyed. The bible also clearly states homosexuality is an abomination, Jesus wasn’t sent here to have kids or get married, The bible clearly states that he came here to do the greater will of the Father and not of his own.

It is amazing that so many people without faith complain about religion and those who have it.

    God had rules called commandments.

You are free to believe and follow whatever you’d like so quit complaining about what others believe. It makes you look foolish and narrow-minded.
